SCHOOL EXPERIENCE

Students are hosted in volunteer Argentinean host families, who wish to share their everyday life with a foreign student. We place our students in the province of Córdoba, and eventually in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Salta, Jujuy, Catamarca, Santa Fé, and in smaller cities in Patagonia.

International students take advantage of their stay in Argentina to discover its rich culture, made of Latin American and European influence, as well as its geographical diversity.Students are placed in private schools, where students wear a uniform. Placements in more expensive

private schools may also be requested for an extra cost. Students enjoy their afternoons or

mornings taking tango classes or Spanish courses or practicing sports in various clubs. Students can visit sub-Antarctic rainforests in Patagonia, tropical jungles in the northeast, mountains, sandy beaches, deserts, or the awesome “Iguazú” waterfalls. Students are usually

proposed an excursion to Patagonia or to Argentina’s Northwest during their Stay.

SCHOOL SYSTEM

Education in Argentina is divided into three tiers: Pre-School education (one grade, from age 5); Primary education (seven grades, from age 6 to 12); Secondary Education (five grades, from age 13 to 17/18). At the end of the mandatory Secondary Education cycle, students leave school with the certificate of secondary graduation, ready to enrol into higher education. Secondary school students attend the following mandatory courses: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, P.E., Mathematics, Spanish Literature, Foreign Language (English), Music, Technology and Economy. However, other subjects are based on an individual school’s offerings, such as: Technical Drawing, Biology, Physics, Plastic and Visual Arts, Chemistry, French, Italian, Latin, etc. Most schools go from 08:00 am until 01:00 pm. Some schools go from 01:30 pm until 06:30 pm. Graduation is not possible. We also offer international students the opportunity to attend a short term homestay and school integration program in Argentina (8 to 12 weeks).
