Note that the schools in Québec province only offer the so called Middle Years IB Programme (up to Grade 11), which prepares students for the regular IB Diploma Programme. Above average students or students already attending the IB in their home countries may have the opportunity to be admitted into the IB programs. Our IB students live with a local Canadian host family.
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is a rigorous academic programme that challenges students to learn how to learn, analyze, and reach considered conclusions about
People, Language, Literature, Sciences and Mathematics as it affects our world.
The IB prepares effectively students for university by asking them to push beyond their perceived educational comfort level. In doing so, they develop the skills needed for post secondary success while in high school. The IB Diploma Programme is a 2 year programme that requires students to study courses across all disciplines. Further, all students explore the connections between the 6 major subject areas, will study each subject through an international perspective, will reflect critically on what it means to be a ‘knower’ (Theory of Knowledge), will pursue one subject in great detail through independent research (Extended Essay), and, will have an opportunity to apply their knowledge/skills and interests locally (Creativity, Action, Service).
Only students enrolled in and attending an authorized IB World School may participate in an IB
programme. High achieving students with an advanced English level are welcome to apply to this program. Graduation is possible.
